Pierre Cardin is one of the most famous premium fashion brands in the world. More than 70 years established and developed, Pierre Cardin plays an important contribution in the global fashion.
Let's take a look with Pierre Cardin Paris Vietnam at the most significant milestones in the history of the luxury fashion brand!
Pierre Cardin is a legend in the global fashion industry. With the visionary “direction toward the stars" (Vogue Magazine), he owned feature designs inspired by 3D aesthetics and futuristic geometry that were ahead of their time.

Most importantly , Pierre Cardin revolutionized the concept of ready-to-wear fashion, reaching its zenith. This revolution paved the way for the evolution of modern fashion.
The years from 1920 to 1980 can be considered the most significant period in the formation of Pierre Cardin's legacy. In this period, the brand brought revolutionary changes to global fashion, notably the releasing of ready-to-wear collections.
The founder of the premium fashion brand, Pierre Cardin, was born in 1922 in the Northeastern region of Italy. His childhood was scarred as his family and him ran away from Mussolini's regime to France at the age of 2.

Pierre Cardin's passion for fashion was evident from a young age. In 1945, he officially arrived in the fashion capital of Paris and began his career journey.
Becoming a tailor for Christian Dior in 1946 marked a crucial milestone in Pierre Cardin's life. His exceptional talent appeals to the media, recognized by the title of "the exclusive outstanding cutter" in Paris.

Christian Dior highly appreciated Pierre Cardin's meticulousness and dedication, thus, Dior continued ordering Pierre Cardin's tailoring for designing customized clothing. The tailoring skills honed at Dior greatly contributed to Pierre Cardin's journey to becoming a legend.
Four years later, at the age of 28, Pierre Cardin established his own brand. Initially, he specialized in making costumes for the stage and film industry.

Born in Paris, the heart of haute couture, the Pierre Cardin brand also ventured into the world of luxury and distinctiveness. In 1953, Pierre Cardin released his first collection.

During this time, Pierre Cardin began the concept of ready-to-wear clothing on a small scale, through his boutiques Adam and Eve.
With the visionary perspective “direction toward the stars" (as Vogue Magazine) and innovative business mindset, Pierre Cardin aimed to transcend the confines of Haute Couture. He recognized the potential of ready-to-wear fashion and decided to expand his business.

In 1959, Pierre Cardin officially introduced his ready-to-wear collection for women. The collection was displayed prominently at the facade of the Printemps shopping center, as a direct challenge to the Haute Couture industry.
Pierre Cardin was criticized as an "outsider." He was even expelled by the Paris High Fashion Association. After many years, he was invited back after the fashion industry acknowledged the value of ready-to-wear.
This year marked the peak of Pierre Cardin's design career, in both men's and women's fashion.
Pierre Cardin astounded fashion enthusiasts with his first ready-to-wear collection for men in 1960. The designs were showcased by 250 French students rather than professional models, emphasizing Pierre Cardin's belief in “ready-to-wear" fashion serving the public.

In the same collection, Pierre Cardin introduced iconic designs, including the collarless blazer. This design gained significant attention when endorsed by The Beatles during their performances, creating a global sensation. In the same year, Pierre Cardin opened a ready-to-wear fashion store for men in Paris.

For women's fashion, Pierre Cardin initiated a true revolution. His passionate obsession with space led him to design square-shaped dresses with precise geometric cuts resembling satellite orbits. These dresses liberated women from constraint, providing comfort in daily activities. Today, these designs are still considered extremely “modernized".
Pierre Cardin continued to surprise by creating a fabric of his own named - "Cardine." This fabric allowed him to create intricate geometric structures, fulfilling his design passion for "space." Moreover, the fabric did not wrinkle when folded.

The A-line dress made from this fabric was introduced in the "Bacall and the Boys" show. Subsequently, Marc Bohan of Dior and Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Cardin was officially recognized as a fashion genius.
The world's recognition of Pierre Cardin was cemented through the Dé d'Or award from the French High Fashion Association in 1977. He later became the only designer to win this award three times.
